Pack & Send Australia & New Zealand Website Transformation

Pack & Send is a leading logistics, courier, freight, and eCommerce delivery provider operating across Australia and New Zealand through a large network of service centres and franchise locations. With thousands of visitors using the websites to request quotes, book deliveries, track consignments, locate service centres, and access logistics information, the digital experience plays a critical role in lead generation and online sales performance.

Pack & Send partnered with Soda Digital to redesign and rebuild their websites in Australia and New Zealand, with a focus on performance, usability, and conversion rate optimisation. The existing sites had become cluttered, slow, and difficult to maintain. Performance issues, outdated frontend architecture, and inconsistent user experience were affecting both customer engagement and online bookings.

Soda Digital rebuilt the platforms from the ground up on Umbraco CMS, delivering a faster, cleaner, and more conversion-focused digital experience across both Australia and New Zealand — while also providing ongoing support, optimisation, maintenance, and SLA-backed availability management over the following four years.

Challenge

The previous Pack & Send websites were struggling under the weight of legacy frontend issues, inconsistent user experience patterns, and technical debt.

Pages were slow to load, mobile performance was inconsistent, and key conversion pathways lacked clarity and visual focus. Important actions — such as quote requests, bookings, and service centre searches — required too many steps and created unnecessary friction for users. The sites also suffered from broken functionality, poorly organised JavaScript, delayed font loading, browser compatibility issues, and outdated frontend components that were heavily impacting performance.

At the same time, the platform needed to support a complex ecosystem of third-party systems, booking workflows, tracking tools, maps, reviews, and customer interactions — all while preserving a large SEO footprint across more than 1,000 pages of content. The challenge was not simply to refresh the visual design, but to engineer a faster and more scalable digital platform capable of supporting ongoing business growth, operational complexity, and high-volume customer interactions.

Solution

Soda Digital rebuilt the Pack & Send websites on a new high-performance Umbraco CMS architecture hosted in Microsoft Azure. A major part of the project involved integrating the websites with a wide range of external systems and services critical to the Pack & Send customer experience.

Soda Digital engineered and supported integrations across booking systems, shipment tracking tools, Google Maps services, reviews platforms, live chat, franchise workflows, and location search functionality — all while ensuring the frontend remained fast, stable, and easy to use. The platform also needed to support multiple regional instances and connected environments, including Australia, New Zealand, tracking systems, online booking services, and customer account areas.

Managing this level of integration complexity required careful backend architecture, API handling, frontend optimisation, and ongoing monitoring to ensure reliability and performance across the broader digital ecosystem.

The project focused heavily on frontend performance optimisation, UX and UI redesign, responsive mobile experience, SEO preservation, and conversion rate optimisation. Rather than changing the brand direction completely, the redesign refined and modernised the existing experience while making high-value interactions clearer and easier for users to complete.

New landing pages, streamlined navigation structures, and redesigned booking flows helped simplify the customer journey across the sites. Fixed call-to-action elements, improved postcode search functionality, and cleaner page layouts created a much more focused and conversion-friendly experience. Outdated Grid Builder dependencies and frontend bottlenecks were removed and replaced with modular dynamic layout components that improved both performance and content flexibility. The rebuild also introduced improved service centre search functionality, responsive mobile layouts, reviews and ratings integration, Google Maps integration, and streamlined content management workflows.
